Hi, I’m Claudio Concha, founder and director of Pilao Labs.

I help artists, creative professionals, and small businesses build websites that feel like them, thoughtful, distinctive, and made with real people in mind.

Over the years, I’ve worked across digital strategy, website design, and project management, from global brand campaigns to award winning charity projects. I’ve had the chance to work with all sorts of organisations and creative people, helping them figure out what they want to say online, how they want to show up, and how to turn those ideas into something that actually works.

These days, I’m most interested in working closely with inspiring people on interesting projects. Sometimes that means bringing together designers, developers, copywriters and other creatives. Sometimes it means rolling up my sleeves and taking care of everything myself. Either way, I like keeping things clear, collaborative and, ideally, enjoyable.

For me, a good website shouldn’t just look great. It should feel human, be easy to use, and put the people you're trying to reach at the centre of the experience.

When I’m not immersed in websites, life moves between school runs, supporting artists, and my two great obsessions: printmaking and gastronomy. I carve lino, collect ideas, cook with intent and spend an unreasonable amount of time thinking about food, places and the stories behind them. I’m also partial to a good road trip, a properly made pisco sour and a short game of chess.

My current reading tends to wander in much the same direction. I’m fascinated by food, culture, history and mythology, with Mark Kurlansky’s Salt, Cod and The Basque History of the World currently competing for space on my bedside table. I’m also deep into Stephen Fry’s Mythos, Heroes, Troy and Odyssey, Fry’s wonderfully irreverent retellings of the Greek myths and Homer’s epic.

And, perhaps most importantly, all these passions and activities are proudly AI free.
